The following presentation from MS Ignite 2017 provides an overview of deployment and consumption options, content development and delivery workflows, and administration tools and processes including Office 365 Audit Logs, Azure Active Directory policies and managing Power BI Premium capacities:
A few of the highlights include:
- Dev, Test, and Prod App Workspaces for Staged Deployment Lifecycle
- With Copy APIs
- V-Core Pooling – the ability to allocate purchased Power BI Premium cores to separate capacities or to quickly scale up an existing capacity (e.g. from P2 to P3)
- Selectively publishing specific items from workspaces into Power BI Apps
- Distributing content to users of external organizations via apps (preview coming in October)
- Audit log solution template
Almost all of these new or recent features and management tools are included in the Power BI Cookbook, which has now been published:
Power BI project workflows and managing larger scale Power BI deployments is central to my new book Mastering Power BI.
